Trombone Player
André Bellmont was active as a trombonist in the 1980s and gained formative musical experience as an orchestral musician, including at the Zurich Opera House under Ralph Weikert and Nello Santi, in the Zurich Chamber Orchestra under Edmond de Stoutz, in the Basel Symphony Orchestra under Paul Sacher and in the Winterthur City Orchestra under Franz Welser-Möst. At the same time, Bellmont was active in the Zurich jazz scene. In 1991/92, he worked as a trombonist on the Holland America Line cruise ship “Nieuw Amsterdam”. In 1999, he ended his career with a performance of The Threepenny Opera with Katharina Thalbach, Fabian Krüger and Sigi Terpoorten.
